Known as the ‘DFM’ stage (Design for Manufacture), it is where we take the selected prototype design from Checkpoint B and complete the detail engineering of the new product with the purpose of setting up for functional presentation prototype models or production, whether low volume or mass manufacturing.

The design is then broken down into singular components and evaluated according to manufacture. Any functional considerations are refined, before the overall form is defined to ensure the manufacturing process is trouble-free, cost effective and meets specifications.

Why Design For Manufacturer (DFM)?

Checkpoint C

Engineer
